How gyming in the morning changed my mindset

If you know me, I do love my sleep. But I guess that’s because I don’t always have a great sleep. So you can imagine how hard it is to drag myself out of bed after hearing iPhones’ horrible but efficient default alarm.

I used to go to the gym in the evenings, as it was the only time that fitted well with my work timetable. I would gym for 2 hours a day, go home, have a shower, have dinner, wait for my food to digest enough for me to sleep.

After years of working out like this, my body started telling me it hates it. I was gaining weight from not letting my food digest for longer, I struggled to sleep because I had an endorphin rush from my session a few hours prior. I woke up cranky because I didn’t get enough sleep. Work was dragging for me because I was tired. But I repeated the whole thing the next day because I vowed to go to the gym 5 days a week; I had gym goals to achieve.

When I moved houses, I had no choice to change gyms. There wasn’t a great variety of gyms in the area which would allow me to achieve my gym goals. I came across a cross-fit gym; although it was quite pricey, I knew I could hit my goals. The new year was approaching and I had remembered a time when I used to go to the gym before work, and it improved my life so much. So I said to myself, in 2022, I will go to the gym in the mornings only.
