Cold showers and why you should take them

Kick start your morning with a cold buzz. It sounds terrifying right. Especially if you’re reading this from a country that is currently experiencing winter. I stepped out today and the weather was biting, the cars had ice on them but the soreness in my legs started to ease away. It then reminded me of the times I did Cryotherapy after an intense HIIT workout or my body needed to reset.
What is Cryotherapy you ask? Let’s split the words up. Cryo means cold, typically extremely cold and Therapy is a type of treatment intended to heal.
People are always going to prefer warm or hot showers. It warms them up, relaxes them, and is more bearable than cold showers. The only time you hear people taking cold showers is during the summer when the heat is too much to handle.
However, hot showers have several disadvantages whereas cold showers or other forms of cryotherapy have multiple benefits for your body and well-being.
